Three best friends from college go on an epic bachelor trip to Spain. On this trip, they each rediscover themselves, figure out what they want in life, and fall in love with their lives!
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Katrina Kaif.
This movie is one of the most adored and classics in 2010s Bollywood. Newcomers to Bollywood, if you wanted a movie to start off with, this is the article to read!
This movie is directed by Zoya Akhtar, who is also the sister of Farhan Akhtar. Zoya Akhtar is known for her creative, out-of-box, and realistic movies. She has directed some other famous movies such as Gully Boy, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bombay Talkies, etc. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara stands out from her list of movies, as the most calming, fun, inspiring, and motivating one! Everything about this film, cinematography, location, acting, songs, and dialogues, are incredibly memorable!
Kabir (Abhay Deol) is just engaged and the person who got Imraan(Farhan Akhtar) and Arjun(Hritik Roshan) together. However getting Arjun to join was a bit of a problem, as he was drowned in work. At the beginning of the film, Arjun was recovering from his recent breakup and stressed because of the amount of work, thinking if he could even attend the bachelor party. Imraan was with Kabir at his engagement party, however, he has his own secrets hidden from his best friends. Kabir on the other hand is stuck in-between emotions. He is not totally sure if he wants to get married or if the marriage was just something that happened due to a misunderstanding. However, he is committed to going on the bachelor’s trip together.
Why It Is One Of My Favorite ‘Feel-Good’ Movie
This movie has everything in it, comedy, emotions, drama, and romance. One of the top reasons why I love this film is simply because of how realistic and simple the film is. I believe in the statement that cinema is a reflection of how society is, and ZNDM is an example of just that. Friends who have their own dilemmas to solve fears to face, and insecurities, get together and try and face life with all of its hurdles and try and love it together.
This film gets me in the feels every time I watch it, and I have rewatched over 50 times by now! Just imagining going on a trip to a foreign country with your best pals, meeting new people, battling your fears together, and falling in love with a stranger, is an experience that I cannot wait to experience!
But more than the fact of traveling, the idea of being free and just truly being yourself, letting go of past emotions and events, and just embracing the now, was very addicting to me. Everyone has had negative events in the past, that they still hold now, and they are well aware that they need to let go of it to be happy. I am one of those people. And seeing the characters realizing how happy they can be by letting all of it go, made me want to let go of it all, and go through the emotions of freedom and independence. This movie also shows the significance of having one life, and living every day like it’s your last! Kabir, Imraan, and Arjun do activities that they would have never done if they hadn’t come to the bachelor trip! They were facing their biggest fears and getting over them, living every day to the fullest!
Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol’s acting as the ‘Three Musketeers’ really come through the screen and touches the audience’s heart. The songs and tracks from this film make the people listening to it, feel like booking a ticket to Spain immediately. ZNMD was truly a cinematic masterpiece in all senses and I highly recommend watching this movie!

Seize the day my friend….. first live today to the fullest, then think about when you become 40 years old (translation to english)
