Maureen Killoran
Ah, yes the biggest problem with no clear solution. How to de-stress in a non-destructive manner?
What is a destructive manner to de-stress? I will list it for you.
- Yelling your stress at others
- Blaming others
- Throwing things around
- Bottling it all inside and then exploding
Being upset for too long will only destruct your mental and physical peace. You might get anxious or even have high blood pressure, which is never good. But do not worry, because there are ways to practice healthier ways to release stress.
Here are a few of them:

Moving Your Body
Moving your body and exercising is the number one way to release stress from your mind and your body.

Taking Deep Breaths
When everything gets heated up, you might not realize that you might be holding in your breath. When that happens, take a step back and take a few deep breaths. Try this exercise 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes.

Repeat Calming Phrases
Try reciting a mantra or a calming phrase such as ‘It will all work out or ‘It will pass’. Repeating this to yourself will make it easier to express your emotions without blasting.

Find Humor In Between the Heat
Try and diffuse your anger by looking at it from outside, and how it must look? It does not mean just laughing and moving on. It means that sometimes being light-hearted won’t hurt! Once you are light-hearted and don’t take yourself too seriously, you will notice just how minor the problem was.

Talk To A Professional
If you cannot figure out how to cope with your stress or anger, then it is always helpful to visit a professional. They will help you pinpoint what triggers your stress, and then help you find out different coping methods.
“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”
William James
Oh yeah, movement really is a fool-proof way to alter my mood, plus it’s a healthy way of coping as well. It’s one of the most important things I have to do every day to tackle my day better. Anyway, thanks for this post!
